House League - Head Coach Application 2025/2026
This form is for HEAD COACH Applications ONLY. Trainer, Assistant Coach and Manager positions will be selected by the head coach.

As a coach, you have the unique opportunity to inspire young kids both on and off the ice, fostering their love for the game while teaching valuable life skills such as teamwork, discipline, and resilience.

 

Whether you're a former player looking to share your passion or a newcomer eager to make a positive impact, coaching youth hockey allows you to contribute to your community in a meaningful way.

Head Coach Application

Without dedicated Coaches there is no hockey.

Bench Staff Partner

This season, Head Coaches will be permitted to have two designated bench staff members. All staff selections must be approved by CRHL and adhere to applicable league policies. Trainers are mandatory, one bench staff member MUST be a trainer.

Please take a moment to review the bench staff requirements outlined on our Clarington Thunder Hockey League website under the "Coaching Resources" section.

It is essential that you are familiar with the mandatory qualifications for each role. As a Head Coach, you are responsible for ensuring that all members of your bench staff meet and complete these requirements in a timely manner.

Please note - U7/U8/U9 requires Coach 1, even if you have your Coach 2 certification.

Please do not complete any training until you have been selected by the Coach Selection Committee. Once selected, please complete your required training as soon as possible as teams cannot be rostered without it.

Player Evaluation Skates will take place in September.

We encourage selected Coaches to attend their divisions evaluation skates.
I am aware that the first aim of minor sports is the personal and character development of each individual in my charge. Each participant will be given equal opportunity and consideration in all contests and situations. The actions of any and all coaches and team personnel will demonstrate a good example of character and values. I will become familiar with the rules of the CRHL and agree that any behaviour on my part contrary to the rules and endeavours of the CRHL would forfeit my coaching, training and/or managing privileges.
