To complete the bench staff registration form please ask your Head Coach for the link. Head Coaches received the link from the coach selection committee when they were selected.
All teams must have a minimum of two rostered bench staff members.
Teams MUST have a certified Head Coach and Registered Trainer.
Teams can have a maximum of 5 registered bench staff and up to 2 on-ice helpers.
BENCH STAFF RULES
HEAD COACH - 19 years old and a minimum 4 years older than limit of division
ASSISTANT COACH - 16 years old and a minimum 4 years older than limit of division (assistants can not act as head coach unless 19 years old)
TRAINER/ASSISTANT TRAINER - 19 years old and a minimum 1 year older than limit of division
MANAGERS - 19 years old and a minimum 4 years older than limit of division (can only identify 1 manager on roster)
Maximum 5 Bench staff
ON-ICE VOLUNTEER - 14 years old and a minimum 2 years older than the age limit of division - 2011-2008
2007 and older needs to provide a VSC to OHF.
On-ice volunteers are not permitted on the bench during games.
**CRHL will only reimburse courses that are mandatory for the position you are rostered for. All course receipts must be submitted via our online form here by December 31st for reimbursement**

Head Coach Responsibilities

Leadership:

Serve as the official spokesperson for the team.

Act as the main representative and leader of the team.

Foster a positive team culture and inspire players.

Select bench staff for your team and ensure requirements are met.

Conduct individual player assessments and provide feedback.

Track players progress throughout the season.

Individualized player development.

Communication:

Maintain clear communication with players, parents, and coaching staff.

Hold regular team meetings and updates in coordination with the manager.

Address any conflicts or issues that arise.

Supervision:

Establish team rules and ensure adherence.

Supervise players on and off the ice.

Address disciplinary issues and maintain a safe environment.
Pre-Game Responsibilities:

Equipment Check: Ensure all players have necessary and properly maintained equipment.

Warm-Up Preparation: Plan and oversee the team's warm-up routines.

Game Strategy: Develop and communicate game strategies to the team.
During-Game Responsibilities:

In-Game Adjustments: Make real-time decisions and adjustments based on the flow of the game.

Player Supervision: Monitor player performance and behavior.
Post-Game Responsibilities:

Review and Feedback: Conduct a post-game review with the team to discuss performance and areas for improvement.

Injury Follow-Up: Ensure any injured players receive appropriate care and follow-up.
Trainer Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance:
Pre-Game Responsibilities:

Preparation: Ensure all first aid equipment is fully stocked and ready for use.

Player Readiness: Assist players with warm-up exercises to prevent injuries

Equipment Inspection: Ensure all players have properly fitted and functioning equipment.
During-Game Responsibilities:

Monitoring: Keep a close watch on players for signs of injury or distress.

Injury Management: Respond quickly to any injuries, providing first aid as needed.
Post-Game Responsibilities:

Injury Follow-Up: Check on players who were injured during the game to ensure they are recovering well.

Record Keeping: Record all injuries in the injury log and report serious injuries to the leagues Head Trainer [email protected]

Equipment Maintenance: Clean and disinfect all first aid equipment and supplies, restock any used or depleted supplies.

Review and Feedback: Conduct a debrief with coaches and players to discuss any injuries or safety concerns.
